“At the present, a total of 17 million cubic meters of gas is being harvested at Phase 19 per day given the installation and operation of three offshore platforms as well as three rows of gas sweetening units,” Operator of South Pars Phase 19 Hamidreza Masoudi told reporters on Tuesday.
He outlined the ultimate objective as reaching a daily production of 50 million cubic meters of gas, 75 thousand barrels of gas condensate, 2800 tons of liquid gas, 2700 tons of ethane as well as 400 tons of sulfur upon completion of the development project; “so far 21 offshore wells have been drilled and come on-stream.”
The official said each offshore gas well of Phase 19 was drilled within 70 days with a depth of 3000 meters asserting “moreover, two of the four platforms have been installed and implemented in the Persian Gulf.”
Masoudi also recalled the operation of two submarine pipelines with a total length of 25 meters to transfer gas from platforms to the coastal refinery adding “in addition, construction of a floating pipeline has also been put on the agenda in order to export gas condensate from the phase.”
Phase 19 operator went on to maintain that the developmental project at the joint phase is about 94 per cent through; “it is estimated that the offshore section of the phase will be fully constructed by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (began March 20).”
The official said about two million barrels of gas condensate have so far been collected from Phase 19 since it first began operation while 1.5 million cubic meters of the total output has been deployed to global markets.
“A total of 1.620 billion cubic meters of natural gas has been produced the phase, 853 million cubic meters of which was distributed through the national gas network,” he emphasized.
At the end of his remarks, Hamidreza Masoudi underscored that the Phase 19 project is being carried out with a total investment of 4.8 billion dollars.
