“The No. 10 corridor of North-West (from Bazargan border port) to Imam Khomeini port in South-East will be constructed jointly with Italians,” said Ali Nourzad, the Managing Director of the National Company for Construction and Development of Transportation Infrastructures, on Thursday.
According to Nourzad a preliminary agreement has been signed with Italy’s ANAS (National Autonomous Roads Corporation) to let the Italians conduct the feasibility studies of the 1200 kilometer corridor.
The deputy road minister stated that the agreement was the framework adopted according to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Iran and Italy during President Rouhani’s visit to Italy.
“ANAS has vowed to invest 800 million Euros following a BOT model of investment for constructing two pieces of the corridor. The Italian corporation is to finalize its early studies in four months,” Nourzad recounted.
