Iran, China ready to boost ties

TEHRAN, Jun. 13 (MNA) – Leader’s senior adviser Velayati said absence of dark background in Iran-China ties has provided proper grounds to develop bilateral cooperation between the two sides.

Speaking at a meeting with President of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Weiguang Wang, Iran’s Ali Akbar Velayati said the relationship between Iran and China has a several-thousand-year-old history offering proper conditions to expand in all fields.

“Given that the two countries hold no dark experiences in their ties, they are able to bolster relations in all arenas without problems,” he noted.

“Authorities of the two countries could take advantage of existing opportunities,” highlighted the official maintaining “Iran and China are gradually taking up the decision to escalate multilateral ties.”

Head of Strategic Research Center Ali Akbar Velayati went on to add that “extensive communications have taken place between Iran and China over the past few years.”

The official expressed hope that Wang’s visit would lead to effective measure for revival of the Silk Road; “apparently, the traditional road marks a strategic pathway for connecting China to the world.”

“We congratulate the government and people of China for the decision as we express readiness to support implementation of the strategic decision which opens new windows to China,” stressed Velayati pointing to Iran’s important position in both overland and waterway routes of the Silk Road.
