Aid to terror-stricken countries obligatory

TEHRAN, Jan. 24 (MNA) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani underlined the need for all the countries to help states that suffer from terrorism.

Heading a delegation, Larijani made the remarks upon his arrival at the airport in Baghdad to attend the 11th session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC).

Iraqi Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri and a number of parliamentarians received Larijani at the airport on Saturday night.

Speaking among reporters, Larijani described PUIC as an opportunity for consultation and a bid to help solve the problems of Islamic countries.

He reiterated that topics, including recent regional crises, terrorism, security and ways to solve the related issues, will be discussed during the summit in Baghdad.

He also will confer with the Iraqi officials on issues of mutual interest as well as regional developments.

The event, attended by 45 Islamic states, will continue by January 25 at the level of parliament speakers.
