Defense min. third pillar of N-talks

TEHRAN, Jan. 19 (MNA) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani underlined that Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan was the third pillar of nuclear negotiations, along with FM Zarif and Head of AEOI Salehi.

Speaking in an economic forum dubbed “JCPOA Implementation, New Chapter in Iran's Economy” here in Tehran on Tuesday, Rouhani said achieving a final deal on nuclear negotiations was not simple work but tough and complicated.

Rouhani referred to certain states' attempts to sabotage the process of nuclear talks between Iran and the 5+1 and appreciated the Iranian nuclear negotiating team's hard working which resulted in the final nuclear deal.

“The final day is marked in the history, despite sabotage by Zionist regime, on the one hand, and regional, domestic extremists, on the other hand,” Rouhani underlined. "With all my knowledge about Iranian diplomats during the post-revolution era, I elected Dr. Zarif as the most powerful minister in nuclear field," Rouhani continued hailing FM Zarif's performance.

Expressing gratitude to the Leader, Rouhani said Ayatollah Khamenei had a full confidence to Mr. Zarif and accepted my proposal to transfer the responsibility of nuclear negotiations from Security Council Secretariat to the Foreign Ministry, indicating that nuclear issue is not an issue of security but politics.

“After standing against all those complications and difficulties, we have reached today, which is the beginning day for an innocent man sentenced for 12 years in prison with chains on his hands and feet; it is the beginning of his release; heavy chains were put upon Iran’s economy’s hands and feet for more than a decade and now it is free and has come to the scenes.”

Fortunately, he said, there exists unity between the government, Parliament and the leadership in our country who all take economy for granted among the most important national goals.

Rouhani underlined the role of the private sector in Iran's economic growth. "Iran's economy is very stable which is suitable for active presence of domestic and foreign private sectors."

“The government intends to concede all unfinished construction projects to the private sector to establish growth and prosperity in the country’s economy.

Noting that JCPOA is a turning point in economic movement in the country, Rouhani hailed the entrepreneurs to revive the country and improve youth employment.

Pointing to the nuclear achievements, he described Brigadier General Dehghan as the third pillar of talks between Iran and 5+1.

“Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan stepped into the field of nuclear talks and following his great efforts with respect to PMD file, IAEA Board of Governors closed the file after 12 years.”
