Iran, Italy underline expansion of tech. coop.

TEHRAN, Jan. 13 (MNA) – An official at Ministry of Science and the visiting Italian delegation has met emphasizing expansion of Iran-Italy cooperation in technology sector.

Khosrow Piri, Director General of Science, Research and Technology at Ministry's Office for Policymaking and Planning, met and talked with the Italy’s technology delegation here on Wednesday morning.

During the meeting, Piri pointed out the history of good relations between the two countries emphasizing the need to develop Iran-Italy ties in the realm of technology.

“On the basis of the MoUs signed between the two countries at ministerial level, the continuation of collaborations requires a robust framework for the operation of agreements,” he added.

Also at the meeting, the Italian side presented the potentials and capabilities of Italian Research and Technology Transfer Office as well as those of Italy’s AREA Science Park.

At the end of the meeting, Khosrow Piri stressed the need for defining a framework of cooperation between Iranian and Italian science parks calling for the formation of joint technological and scientific firms in the two countries as well as clarification of priorities of bilateral collaborations.
