Tochal ski resort inaugurates

TEHRAN, Nov. 19 (MNA) – Iran’s Tochal ski resort opened today during a ceremony attend by several figures including the minister of youth affairs and sports.

During the inaugural ceremony, the managing director of Tochal international ski resort Seyed Mohammad Parhizkar said that by next year the ski resort will expand turning it into Iran’s biggest and longest ski resort.

Tochal ski resort has a gondola lift about 7.5 Km long which is one of the longest in the globe. It takes less than an hour from the 1st station to the last station by car cable.

The project started in 1974 and has been open to the public since 1978. It starts at the Velenjak valley in north of Tehran at an altitude of 1900 m. and ends at the last station at an altitude of 3740 m., near the main ridge of Mount Tochal.
