JCPOA strengthened by reciprocal commitment

NEW YORK, Sep. 28 (MNA) – Iran’s President Rouhani and French President Hollande met in New York on the sidelines of UN summit.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his French counterpart François Hollande met in New York on Sunday on the sidelines of UN General Assembly summit in New York.

The two sides agreed, during the meeting, that it is up to all parts involved in the JCPOA to endevour hard for cementing the agreement achived in Vienna on July 14.

President Rouhani boasted Iran’s unique geological location along with the stability and security of the country, and its huge resources of energy and human resources as the best incentives for investing in Iran.

"As there are good infratructures for bilateral ties, Tehran welcomes development of political, economic, and cultural relations with Paris," said Rouhani.

The Iranian President also affirmed that there are commonalities between the approaches of Iran and France to the ME issues and voiced hope that more conferrings between the two countries can lead to solutions for crises in Yemen, Syria, and Lebonan.

Acknowledging the French condolences offered over the tragedy in Mina, Rouhani described the incident a bitter burden for all Muslims and asked Saudi Arabia to shoulder the responsibilty of mismanagement and misconduct of the rituals.

The French president, for his part, referred to Vienna agreement of July 14 as the result of good-intention of all sides and asked for efforts on meticulous conduct of the agreement.

Pointing to numerous French delegations visiting Tehran after sealing the JCPOA, the French official called for cooperation to enhance Tehran-Paris relations to a good level.   

Reiterating France’s dire determination for better relations with Iran, he called the Islamic Republic the most important player in the region that stablizes the Middle East.

Hollande voiced hope that the future visit to be made by President Rouhani would provide a good occassion to discuss broadening and deepening Tehran-Paris relations.
