Iran, Czech Rep. to cooperate on Isfahan's light rail

TEHRAN, Sep. 06 (MNA) – In a meeting with visiting Czech Foreign Minister Lubomír Zaorálek, the mayor of the central city of Isfahan called for Czech Republic's partnership to launch Isfahan light rail system.

Isfahan’s Mayor Mehdi Jamalinejad said that Isfahan municipality has made negotiations with a Czech company on launching light rail lines.

He said that lifting of Western sanctions on Iran will pave the way for promotion of relations between Iran and Czech Republic.

Comparing Isfahan and Prague from a tourism viewpoint, Jamalinejad said that Isfahan and Prague can be declared sister cities.

Noting that the positive view of the European Republic can increase the constructive cooperation of the two countries, he expressed hope that the two countries will expand relations in various areas in the shortest possible time.

The Czech foreign minister arrived in Isfahan at the head of a political delegation on Friday to discuss bilateral issues with Iranian officials.
