Iran ranks 5th in Intl. Chemistry Olympiad 2015

BAKU, Jul. 29 (MNA) – Iranian young chemists grabbed one gold, two silver and one bronze medal in the 47th International Chemistry Olympiad held in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The international knowledge competition that gathered 300 young chemists from 5 continents and 75 countries, took place from 20 to 29 July in the capital city of Azerbaijan.

In the competition, Iran’s Kasra Asna-Ashari claimed a gold medal, Arman Aie and Mohsen Saberifari each grabbed a silver medal and Nahal Bagheri took the bronze medal.

Iran ranked 5th among the 78 participating countries, with China, Russia, Romania and the United States standing at first to fourth place respectively.

Iran also ranked 5th in the 26th International Biology Olympiad held on 12-19 July in Denmark.

Iranian students received five gold and silver medals in the 46th International Physics Olympiad on July 5 12 in India.

Iran’s national mathematics team ranked 7th in the 56th International Mathematical Olympiad held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, from 4 to 16 July 2015.
