Juries for Tehran Intl. Animation Fest. announced

TEHRAN, Mar. 01 (MNA) – The juries for the international and CIFEJ sections of Tehran International Animation Festival 2015 have been announced.

Giannalberto Bendazzi, Max Hattler, Vladimir Diagilev, Maya yonesho, and Mohsen Chiniforoushan have been selected as the juries for the international section of Tehran’s ninth edition of Animation Festival.

Giannalberto Bendazzi is currently a Visiting Professor of History of Animation at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. An acclaimed author in his sphere, his best known book is Cartoons: 100 Years of Cinema Animation, a world history of the medium published in Italian, English, French, Spanish and Persian.

Max Hattler is a German video artist and experimental filmmaker. He is best known for his kaleidoscopic political short films "Collision" (2005) and "Spin" (2010). Hattler has exhibited internationally at various museums and galleries and received several awards at Bradford Animation Festival, Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, France, and Premio Simona Gesmundo, Cetraro, Italy, 2012.

Maya Yonesho is animation director. Her independent film “believe in it” has won the Excellence prize of Agency for Cultural Affairs of Japan in 1998. Her films has been shown at numerous international festivals and museums include Kunsthalle.

In the CIFEJ section of the festival, Vladimir Diagilev, Giannalberto Bendazzi, and Freshteh Taherpour will judge the international works.

Taherpour is an Iranian film producer. She also writes children's books, one of which, Adventure of Ahmad and Sara, was translated into Japanese. She has been the president of the "Khaneh Cinema", the Iranian alliance of motion guide (2000–2002) and Member of the Board of Directors of “CIFEJ”, the International Center of Film for Children and Young People (2000–2002).  

CIFEJ is an independent forum that allows people from all over the world to meet and discuss the quality of the contents of the media for children.

The accepted animations will be reviewed and judged on Friday, March 6, 2015.

The ninth Tehran international animation festival will be held on March 8-12 in Tehran.
