Iranian Mountaineers Set to Conquer Spantik Peak

TEHRAN, August 4 (Mehr News Agency) -- National mountaineering team of Iran will leave here for Pakistan Tuesday.

Comprising nine mountain climbers, the team plans to conquer the 7,027-meter-high Spantik Peak known as "Golden Peak".

   

Naming their expedition "Climb for Peace", Reza Zarei heading the team, Shahab Reissi, Omid Mohammadi, Soroush Haddadi, Seyed Hossein Hosseini, Reza Sadeqi, Mohammad-Naqi Peyvandi, Sami Ahmari, and Mahdi Sharifi are to hoist Iran's flag on the peak.
