Islamic unity confab goes on in Tehran

TEHRAN, Jan. 19 (MNA) – The 27th Islamic unity confab has commenced in Tehran on Friday in the presence of thinkers, elites, and Ulema of 50 countries, across the world. It is a three-day international conference to be ended on Sunday, birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (pbuh).

Over 300 prominent Muslim scholars and thinkers from 58 countries are taking part in the three-day event titled “The Holy Quran and Its Role in Uniting the Islamic Ummah.”

 

The Secretary General of the Global Assembly for Proximity of Islamic Denominations, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, at the start of this confab pointed out that all Muslims should stand up against conspiracy, sectarian strife, discord among nations, in addition to Takfir and terror.

 

Meanwhile, the special representative to Lebanon Hezbollah secretary general, Allameh Seyed Ibrahim Amin al-Seyed, in an address to this international confab in Tehran said the American officials want the Palestinian cause to be forgotten.

 

A message of Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi addressed the audience pointing out that if Muslims would maintain vigilance and would not give in to the enemies’ conspiracies, peace and friendship would be established in the World of Islam.

 

The conference will wrap up on Sunday with Chairman of Iran’s Expediency Council Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani delivering the final speech.
