TEHRAN, Oct. 15 (MNA) – The Iranian national men's football team demolished the team of Qatar 4-1 in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

The Iranian national men's football team took on Qatari national team in Dubai, UAE on Tuesday evening in a FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifying match at Rashid Stadium in Dubai today, October 15. The Iranian side beat the Qatari rival 4-1.

Sardar Azmoon scored the first two goals for Iran and  Mohammad Mohebi scored the other two goals.

The comfortable victory was achieved despite the fact that it was the Qatari side took the lead and scored the first goal of the match in the first half.

The Iranian players found the back of the net two other times but the goals were canceled by the referee as offside. 

With the win over Qatar, Iran are now leading their Group A of the competition with 10 points, followed by Uzbekistan, and UAE.

The top two teams from the group will secure direct qualification for the World Cup.
