TEHRAN, Feb. 24 (MNA) – Iran’s men’s basketball team defeated Qatar 76-74 in the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers game.

In a thrilling basketball game played at a packed Azadi Basketball Hall in Tehran, Behnam Yakhchali led Iran with 20 points. He scored 6 of those points from beyond the arc. He also recorded 3 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals, which helped him to achieve an efficiency rating of 20.

This game was the first Asia Cup Qualifiers match to go into overtime since the meeting between Syria and Saudi Arabia on June 12, 2021.

The Iranian basketball team will now face India in New Delhi as part of Group E on Monday.
