TEHRAN, Feb. 19 (MNA) – The iranain ambassador met with the chairman of the central prison in Kuwait, and the two sides agreed that 38 Iranian prisoners to serve the remaining of hail term in Iran based on the previous judicial assistance agreement.

At the same time as the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the Iranian ambassador to Kuwait Mohammad Totunchi met with the head of the central prison of the neighboring Arab country and discussed the situation and problems of Iranian prisoners.

In the meeting, the ambassador appreciated paying attention on the part of the Kuwaiti authorities to the health and psychological issues of the prisoners.

The head of the Kuwait prison, for his part, described the Iranian prisoners as obedient to rules and regulations.

On the visit, Totunchi also met and held face-to-face talks with 90 Iranian prisoners behind bars in the Central Prison of Kuwait and was briefed about their issues and problems.

He and the prisoners celebrated the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in a reception. 

In this meeting, the issue of the extradition of 38 Iranian prisoners to serve the rest of their jail terms in Iran based on the judicial assistance agreement signed between the two countries was discussed and action in that regard was decided to be taken.
