TEHRAN, Oct. 04 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has called for coordination and consensus to fight against desecration of Islamic sanctities.

In a meeting with the Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy Koutoub Moustapha Sano who paid a visit to Iran to participate in the 37th edition of the International Islamic Unity Conference (IIUC), the top Iranian diplomat said that the academy plays an important and influential role across the Muslim world.

He also emphasized the importance of increasing the interactions between the thinkers of the Islamic world in order to strengthen Islamic unity and confront the challenges facing the Islamic Ummah.

Amir-Abdollahian further noted that Iran is ready to cooperate with the International Islamic Fiqh Academy to decisively confront offensive actions such as insulting the holy sanctities and Islamic values.

Moustapha Sano, for his part, hailed Iran's precious efforts in uniting the Islamic Ummah, calling on the country to increase its support for the International Islamic Fiqh Academy.
