TEHRAN, Jul. 08 (MNA) – The Iranian interior minister Ahmad Vahidi has paid a visit to Iraq where he met and held talks with his Iraqi counterpart Abdul Amir al-Shammari at the Zarbatiya-Mehran border crossing. 

Iraqi sources announced that the purpose of this trip is to hold a security meeting.

The Iraqi Interior Ministry announced that the two sides will exchange views on security coordination, border control, and preparations to welcome Iranian pilgrims in the Arbaeen procession.

The governors of Basra, the head of Iraqi border crossings, and other Iraqi and Iranian officials are supposed to attend this meeting.
