TEHRAN, Aug. 21 (MNA) – People in the historical village of Masuleh in northern Iran held mourning rituals in the first day of Muharram to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (PBUH)

Muharram is the first month on the Islamic calendar. During the month, mourners take to the streets and gather in mosques and other religious places to grieve in different rituals the martyrdom of the third Shia Imam, Imam Hussein.

This year’s mourning ceremonies, however, have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic that has been sweeping across all world countries.
