TEHRAN, Jul. 07 (MNA) – The police forces of Golestan province, northern Iran, have seized over 3.7 tons of narcotics in the province since the beginning of the current calendar year (March 19).

Head of Golestan’s anti-narcotics police, Colonel Majid Zaeri, said on Monday that up to 3,752 kilograms of different illicit drugs were busted this year, showing a 30% rise in volume of the drug discoveries compared with the same period of last year.

He noted that 58 traffickers and 1,156 drug dealers were captured during the period.
