TEHRAN, Nov. 27 (MNA) – After the 3rd High-Level EU-Iran Seminar on International Nuclear Cooperation in Brussels on Monday, the EU Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy Miguel Arias Canete read out a statement, declaring EU's determination to further develop cooperation in the civil nuclear field with Iran and continue support for the JCPOA.

Speaking at a press conference after the two-day 3rd EU-Iran High-level Seminar on International Nuclear Cooperation which ended on Monday in Brussels, the EU Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy Miguel Arias Canete read out a statement in a joint conference with the head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi, saying  “the objective of this particular meeting is to further develop our cooperation in the civil nuclear area, particularly in the field of nuclear safety and regulatory matters always in accordance with JCPOA's Annex III.”

Canete added “the JCPOA also called the Iran nuclear deal a key element of the global nulcear non-proliferation architecture and is crucial for the security of Europe, and the region and the entire world.”

He added that the JCPOA is working and delivering on its own goal, which is to ensure that the Iran nuclear program will remain exclusively peaceful.

Moreover, he said, “we do not see any credible peaceful alternative to JCPOA.” He added that negotiations took more than 10 years and the agreement was built on difficult compromises made by all sides.

The EU Commissioner further declared “the European Union remains committed to continue full and effective implementation of the agreement in all its aspects as long as Iran continues to implement all its nulcear-related commitments as it has been doing so far and as it has been confirmed by the International Atomic Energy Agency in 13 consecutive reports.”

He added that Annex III of the JCPOA on civil nuclear cooperation forms an integral part of the agreement, adding development civil nuclear cooperation makes the deal more durable.

Canete went on to say that the EU cooperation with Iranian nuclear scientists will continue through scientific seminars and technical visits to nuclear sites and laboratories of the European Union joint research centers.

The EU commissioner added that the European experts will continue cooperation on projects at Arak and Fordow nuclear facilities.

He concluded "the high level seminar is a strong signal to our wish to continue the cooperation with Iran.”
