During the ceremony, Bosnia-Herzegovina House of Representative Speaker Sefat Suftic and Iran's ambassador to the east European country, Mahmoud Heydari, delivered speeches, highlighting the need for boosting cultural ties between the two countries.
The event, held in Persian-Bosnian College’s language center, was also attended by Ilijas Mayor Akef Fazelich and Persian language teachers and students.
Addressing the event, the Iranian official congratulated the Bosnia’s national day, and called for providing educational opportunities, especially in the field of language learning, for the younger generation.
Fazelich, for his part, hailed “Iran’s significant role in defending Bosnian people and expressed hope that such joint educational and cultural programs will help students and the youth get a deeper knowledge of their history and identity."
Iran and Bosnia hold longstanding friendly relations in a wide range of economic, political and cultural fields.
