TEHRAN, Nov. 21 (MNA) – The Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO) has granted funds to 37 Iranian aerospace students to attend specialized workshops on space technology in China, a senior official said.

Iranian Space Agency (ISA) Director Morteza Barari said APSCO has provided several training courses on the latest space technologies, with the aim of fostering the capabilities of its member states in this regard.

He noted that the international organization has provided educational funds in cooperation with some Chinese universities, including Beihang University, Harbin Engineering University and Northwestern Polytechnical University, to ease the aficionados' access to such opportunities.

“Of the total 37 Iranians granted with the funds, 25 are undergraduates, and 12 are post-graduate students,” the official added.

He did not provide further details about the prospective workshops.

APSCO is the second largest multilateral and intergovernmental space organization after the United Nations’ ESA. It has eight permanent members including Iran, China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Mongolia, Peru, Thailand and Turkey.
