TEHRAN, Nov. 20 (MNA) – The Iranian Ambassador to Copenhagen Morteza Moradian said Tues. that the Danish ambassador Danny Annan will return to Tehran tomorrow.

Morteza Moradian told Fars News Agency today that he had met with Danny Annan, who was recalled after the Danish intelligence chief Finn Borch Andersen accused Iran of a failed ‘assassination attempt’ in his country at the end of October. Iran has strongly denied Denmark's allegations.

“Today, I had a brief talk with the Danish ambassador to Tehran Danny Annan and he told me that he will return to Tehran tomorrow,” Moradian told Fars News Agency on Tuesday.

He added “I hope that through the efforts of the two countries the problems will be resolved.”

Meanwhile, the Associated Press has just reported that Denmark is sending its ambassador back to Tehran.

According to the AP, Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen had said that Ambassador Danny Annan is returning to Iran “to intensify diplomacy and coordinate closely with our European partners.” Samuelsen said on Tuesday the European Union had ‘a renewed discussion’ about ‘common steps against Iran.’ He didn’t elaborate.

According to the AP, Annan was expected to arrive in Tehran on Thursday.
