TEHRAN, Nov. 12 (MNA) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Sunday that reconstruction of 70,000 housing units in quake-hit regions of Kermanshah has been completed.

Making the remarks in a cabinet meeting on Sunday evening, Rouhani said that the relief process and temporary housing of the people hit by last year’s earthquake in Kermanshah province were very promising, adding, “based on the reports, almost all quake-hit people in rural areas have returned to their homes.”

“What has been done in Kermanshah province in helping those hit by the earthquake was a nationwide work, which the media should explain.”

“Reconstruction of 70,000 housing units has been finalized,” the President added, appreciating all athletic, cultural, artistic and scientific figures for helping the people in the areas.

He also said, “The government spent 10,800 billion tomans for helping the people in Kermanshah province, 1,500 billion tomans of which was ex gratia.”

Appreciating all organs, including Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) and Armed Forces, for helping relief process, Rouhani acknowledged efforts of the hard-working Governor General of Kermanshah and the Housing Foundation in reconstructing the housing units in the province.

A powerful earthquake of magnitude 7.3 quake rattled parts of the western province of Kermanshah last November, killing at least 620 people and injuring thousands and leaving many displaced.
