TEHRAN, Oct. 31 (MNA) – The Iranian team gained a commanding victory over Guam at 2018 FIBA U18 Women’s Asian Championship, underway in Bangalore, India.

In a Tuesday match, Iranian squad won Guam 98-55 to gain their second victory in the event. The team had suffered a 65-73 defeat to India on Sunday, before winning Singapore 70-53 on Monday.

Accordingly, Iran finished second in the Group A of Division B after India. The team will take on Kazakhstan on Thursday in the quarter-final.

The champion of Division B will take berth to the Division A of the next event.

The 24th edition of FIBA U18 Women’s Asian Championship kicked off on October 28 and it will wrap up on November 3. Top four teams of Division A will qualify to the 2019 FIBA Under-19 Women's Basketball World Cup.
