TEHRAN, Jul. 27 (MNA) – The head of the dispatched teams of Iran attending the International Army Games 2018 in Russia said that the event contributes to defense capabilities of the staff due to exchange of experience.

“In this tournament which started in 2013 with Russian defense ministry’s initiatives, the participant teams compete in three fields of terrain, water, and sky,” said Brigadier General Vajihollah Jamshidi, the head of the dispatched teams of Iran attending the International Army Games 2018 in Russia.

“This year, for the first time, the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran hosts ‘Deep Diving’ competitions in Noshahr, in which teams from Russia, Syria, South Africa, Venezuela, India, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and the Islamic Republic of Iran compete for 12 days,” added the official.

Airborne, safe harbor, mountains and tank teams of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran will compete with teams from other countries in the cities of Piskovo, Castorama, Elbrus, Alabino around Moscow.

“These kinds of competition are of effective benefit as they can improve the defense knowledge of the staff through sharing knowledge and exchanging experience,” he hailed the event and the presence of Iranian military personnel at the event.

The International Army Games 2018 will be held from July 28 to August 11 in seven countries: Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Kazakhstan, Iran and Armenia.

The number of participants has also increased. 181 teams from 32 countries will take part in the games. This is a third more than last year.

The servicemen of Algeria, Vietnam, Myanmar, Pakistan, Sudan and the Philippines will show their skills.
