In his message, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani congratulated King Philippe and Prime Minister Charles Michel of Belgium, as well as the Belgian nation as they celebrate their National Day on 21 July.
Rouhani expressed hope that Tehran-Brussels’ friendly relations would further develop.
“I hope that under collaboration between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Belgium, we will witness further development of relations between the two countries in different fields of mutual interest, and the existing political and economic capacities will further contribute to the deepening of friendship and welfare of the two nations,” wrote President Rouhani on Saturday.
The Iranian president also prayed for the Belgian nation’s felicity and prosperity.
Belgium commemorates its National Day on 21 July, in honor of the day in 1831 in which the country’s first monarch swore allegiance to the new Belgian constitution, thus marking the start of the independent state of Belgium under a constitutional monarchy and parliament.
