“The regional issues can be solved through consultations,” said Ali Larijani, the Speaker of Iranian Parliament, on Sunday.
He made the remarks in Tehran while receiving the Qatari Ambassador to Tehran, Mr. Ali bin Hamad Ali Al Saliti, in his office. This was the farewell meeting of the Qatari envoy to Tehran as his tenure has come to an end and he is going to be replace by the next ambassador.
“You made a lot of efforts to increase the level of bilateral communications between Iran and Qatar in areas of politics and economy during your tenure in Tehran,” said the Iranian top lawmaker extending gratitude for the endeavors and activities of the Qatari diplomat during his term of service in Tehran.
Mr. Larijani then described the Saudi-led blockade of Qatar as an inappropriate move and urged all the countries of the region to resolve issues through dialogue and consultation.
“Also cross-regional powers should not be given the chance to interfere in the issues of the region and put the governments and nations of the region into troubles of their plots,” reiterated Mr. Larijani.
The Qatari diplomat, in this meeting, for his part, expressed his and his country’s deep sense of gratitude for the helps and supports offered by the Islamic Republic of Iran during the time of the Saudi-led blockade.
