TEHRAN, Jun. 27 (MNA) – Iranian FM Zarif was quoted by a senior MP as saying that not everything revolves around US, stressing that Washington is not the whole world and Iran can still continue its cooperation with other countries.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif attended a meeting with a number of Principalist Parliament members on Wednesday, discussing the latest developments on the status of the Iran nuclear deal after the US unilateral pullout from the agreement.

Speaking after the meeting, Spokesman for Iranian Parliament National Security Commission Naghavi Hosseini quoted Zarif as saying that “Europe’s resolve to preserve the nuclear deal is serious, but the important thing is the extent to which they can bring their words into action.”

Zarif said that the European sides, unlike the past, have not immediately followed the US in imposing sanctions against Iran, and are now standing against Washington, at least in words, the senior MP said.

He went on to quote Zarif as saying that more efforts were needed to shatter the US false assumption of Iran’s domestic developments, which has emboldened Washington to think that they can undermine the Islamic Republic establishment.

“Zarif said that not everything evolves around the US, and warned against promoting and feeding this idea,” Naghavi Hosseini said. “He said the world is not comprised of only the US and we can continue our cooperation with the rest of the world.”

Zarif further stressed that Iran would pursue a legal approach that would both serve the country’s national interests and fortify the front that advocates JCPOA preservation, the MP added.

“Zarif said we have been committed to the JCPOA and worked hard to preserve it, and we will prove to the world that the Americans have lied and acted against the pact and blatantly violated an international agreement,” Naghavi Hosseini added.
