TEHRAN, Jun. 23 (MNA) – French Minister of Higher Education Frédérique Vidal said Sat. that her country is planning to send students to Iran to take up courses in Iranian studies, Iranian arts and archeology.

French Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Frédérique Vidal, made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Minister of Science, Research and Technology, Mansour Gholami on Saturday in Paris.

“Iran has made remarkable advances in scientific fields and Iranians are among the top students in France,” she said, adding that France is willing to take on more students from Iran.

She also called for joint cooperation with Iran on environmental projects and new technologies.

The Iranian minister, for his part, considered France as one of the target countries for scientific cooperation, saying that the presence of 14 university rectors and five head of research centers as part of the Iranian delegation to Paris indicates the importance of the European country for Iran’s cooperation development map.

During the meeting, the two sides also called on development of bilateral cooperation, granting scholarships and conducting joint research.
