TEHRAN, Jun. 23 (MNA) – The Iranian squad have so far collected six medals including three gold, one silver and two bronze, on the first day of the 12th Tunis International Meeting in the African country.

The 12th Tunis International Meeting, Africa's only Grand Prix of the year dedicated to para athletics competitions, kicked off on Friday.

On the first day of the international tournament, the Iranian squad managed to collect six medals, including three gold, one silver and two bronze.

Iran is taking part in the tournament with 20 athletes in the category of athletes with disability and 12 in the category of athletes with visual impairment.

In shot put, Eshrat Kordestian won a gold medal, while Batul Jahangiri and Shahla Hadidi each won a bronze.

In 100-meter dash, Davoud Ali Ghasemi won a gold medal in T37 class, while Farhad Kahrizi won silver, and Ahmad Ojaghlou won gold in the T36 class.

The tournemet will wrap up on June 24, 2018.
