TEHRAN, May. 09 (MNA) – In a letter forwarded on Wednesday, Ali Larijani, the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, extended greeting to his Lebanese counterpart on successful holding of parliamentary election in Lebanon.

In a message issued on Wednesday, Ali Larijani extended his felicitations to his Lebanese counterpart Nabih Berri on the successful holding of the recent parliamentary election in Lebanon.

“I would like to sincerely congratulate, with my utmost delight and pleasure, your highness, and the dear nation and government of Lebanon, on the successful holding of your parliamentary election,” reads the opening of his letter to Nabih Berri, the Speaker of the Parliament of Lebanon.

He further prayed for the Labanese Parliament Speaker's continued health and success, as well as the nation’s felicity and prosperity.

The general election for Lebanon’s 128-member parliament, the country's first parliamentary elections in nine years, was held on Sunday, with over 500 candidates vying for seats. Turnout was 49.2 percent, according to officials.
