TEHRAN, Apr. 30 (MNA) – Israeli regime's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday revealed a cache of files he claims were obtained from Iran and prove Tehran ran a secret program to build nuclear weapons.

In a televised primetime speeech,  the Israeli regime's prime minister claimed his regime had obtained 55,000 pages of Iranian documents relating to something called Protect Amad. He said the documents had been kept in “massive safes” and that it has all five elements of a nuclear weapons programme.

Netanyahu, a hawk, said the information had been shared with both Washington and the International Atomic Energy Agency for verification.

Netanyahu's remarks come less than two weeks before US President Donald Trump must decide whether to continue suspending sanctions against Iran under that deal, or restore the penalties on one of the world's biggest oil producers.

The announcement also followed a meeting between Netanyahu and newly sworn-in secretary of State Mike Pompeo this weekend.

Iranian leaders have long said Iran's nuclear program is only for peaceful purposes and the issue has been confirme several times by IAEA.

Many experts believe Netanyahu's claims are not new and he is just trying to pave the way for possible future Trump's decision on the JCPOA.
