The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi who has traveled to the holy city of Mashhad, in northeast Iran to open “Mashhad Atomic Energy High School,” told reporters on Monday afternoon that the foreigners take his words more seriously than Foreign Minister Zarif’s, adding that “prior to this, when we started enriching uranium to 20 percent, the foreigners said that we were bluffing, but they were surprised when they found out.”
Salehi went on to emphasize Iran’s atomic agency is now ready to go back to even a higher position than the past and resume its nuclear activities at a higher level.
Meanwhile, Salehi expressed hope that Iran will not have to take steps in that regard and the Trump administration will act wisely to abide by their obligations.
At the end of his remarks, Salehi referred to Iran’s foreign minister tweets in reaction to Trump’s actions, calling Zarif’s reaction “powerful and logical.”
