“Iran firmly denounced recent attacks by Saudis on residential areas and shopping centers in various cities of Yemen and an air raid on a wedding ceremony on Sunday which killed dozens and wounded many more including women and children,” said Bahram Ghasemi, Spokesman of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He later voiced sympathy with families of the victims of these violent crimes adding “it remains the result of their desperation and failure in capturing Yemeni territories that Saudis intensify bombing of residential areas there, continue the siege and close of air, land and sea links and also block humanitarian aid and necessities for life.
FM spokesman, while criticizing silence of the international community against war crimes committed by Saudi rulers with the help of American weapons, highlighted that attacks on residential areas and civilian targets as well as preventing international organizations and institutions from providing relief aid were flagrant violation of principles of humanitarian law.
Ghasemi later emphasized that arms suppliers to aggressors are accomplices of Saudi Arabia’s crimes and called on the United Nations (UN) and countries engaged in Yemeni crisis to do their best to immediately put an end to attacks and take necessary measures to uphold security and health of the civilian people, women and children in particular.
