TEHRAN, Oct. 30 (MNA) – The Head of Iran’s diplomatic delegation to Astana talks of Syria, Jaberi Ansari met with Russian Special Presidential Envoy for Syria Lavrentiev, prior to holding trilateral meeting with Turkish delegation.

Hossein Jaberi Ansari, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister who heads Iran’s diplomatic delegation to Astana talks held a bilateral meeting with Russian Special Presidential Envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentiev, in Astana, on Monday.

The meeting was held before the trilateral meeting with the delegation of Turkey around the table of talks.

The newest field developments, Syrian-Syrian talks, and reconciliatory resolution of the crisis were the areas discussed and confered on by the two sides in the meeting.

While preparatory meetings for Astana talks kicked off on Sunday, the two day course of main talks got into gear on Monday.

The United Nations Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura, who is not participating in the seventh international Astana meeting on resolving the situation in Syria, announced on Thursday that a new round of talks aimed at ending the Syrian crisis will open in a month’s time.

The seventh international meeting on Syria, currently underway in Kazakhstan’s capital of Astana, kicked on Monday with the aim to reach agreements between the negotiating parties on the two issues that have not been finalized during the previous six rounds – exchange of prisoners and demining conflict zones.
