“It is regretful that Saudi foreign minister is still insisting on the same faulty, costly, and futile approach of their last years, pounding on the drum of tension, violence, and destructive acts,” said Bahram Ghasemi, the Spokesperson of Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday.
The Iranian diplomat made the remarks in reaction to the latest words of Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al Jubeir who said Saudi Arabia supports US President Trump’s stance on Iran after he decided not to certify that Iran is complying with the nuclear deal.
“Saudi officials have to revise their stance and approach and instead of getting too hysterically excited with the threadbare words and policies of US against Iran, they have to find a proper escape route from their internal and regional crises with which they are grappling,” asserted the Iranian diplomat.
“They should stop further victimizing their country and the people of the region with their illusionary, mistaken, and shallow calculations,” warned Mr. Ghasemi, advising Saudi authorities to undertake shrewd decisions based on expediency and responsibility, as well as to accept regional realities with an appropriate, prejudice-free, and less-stubborn approach.
