TEHRAN, Oct. 15 (MNA) – According to a spokesperson at British PM office, Theresa May and Angela Merkel agreed to remain committed to the nuclear deal with Iran.

Britain and Germany agreed on Sunday they remained committed to the JCPOA (the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action also known as Iran’s nuclear deal) after a US President Trump said that he would decertify the agreement, a spokeswoman said after a call between Prime Minister Theresa May and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

“They agreed the UK and Germany both remained firmly committed to the deal,” the spokesperson asserted in a statement.

Reuters reported that the spokeswoman also repeated the same accusations against
Iran, recounting “they also agreed the international community needed to continue to come together to push back against Iran’s destabilizing regional activity, and to explore ways of addressing concerns about Iran’s ballistic missile program.”

The firm commitment of the two European leaders comes two days after US President Trump speech against Iran during which he accused Iran of violating the terms of the agreement.

During the phone conversation, the two officials also addressed the issue of Brexit, exchanging views on how to continue talks and the areas of disagreement to be resolved.
