TEHRAN, Oct. 13 (MNA) – In a telephone conversation late on Thursday, Iranian FM Zarif and his French counterpart Le Drian discussed the latest status of implementing the JCPOA known as Iran nuclear deal.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Jean-Yves Le Drian, the French Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, had a telephobe dialogue late on Thursday.

The two sides reaffirmed the necessity of all sides’ commitment to the terms of the agreement. The French top diplomat also underlined that the Islamic Republic of Iran should be able to benefit from the economic revenues of the accord.

The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), known as Iran nuclear deal, was signed by Iran and 5+1 group of countries on July 14, 2015, in Vienna. While US is one of the signatories of the agreement, the new US President Trump has voiced repetitively that the agreement was the worst contract US ever entered.

After months of calling for renegotiating the accord which was firmly dismissed by Iranian officials, Mr. Trump has changed his strategy and is threatening to withdraw from the agreement.

In the meantime the other sides of the agreement have opposed to US intent, and very recently German FM Gabriel and EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini mulled over the ways to preserve the deal in two one-on-one phone conversations with Iranian FM Zarif earlier on late Wednesday and early Thursday.

The two European officials stressed Europe's commitment to the JCPOA and stated that Iran should enjoy the full economic benefits of the nuclear deal since it has fully complied with its commitments.

Both Mogherini and Gabriel shared the view that Europe will live up to its commitments as long as Iran remains committed to its obligations under the nuclear deal.
