TEHRAN, Oct. 09 (MNA) – Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) held a meeting with commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) on Monday in Tehran.

During the meeting held in Tehran on Monday, Brig Gen. Hassan Shah-Safi of Iranian air force highlighted the close relations between Iran and Oman, saying that the Omani’s commander’s visit was the third meeting between the two countries’ air force commanders in the last nine years.

Air Vice-Marshal Matar bin Ali Al Obaidani, for his part, extended the warm greetings of Oman’s Minister of Defense, adding “relations between the two countries is expanding, and we as the commanders of armed forces should devote more efforts toward the further development of cooperation between the two sides.”

On this three-day visit to Iran, the Omani air force commander is slated to pay a visit to Shahid Lashgari air base in Mehrabad and Shahid Sattari University of Aeronautical Engineering, which is the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force's military academy.
