Parliamentary representatives of Algeria, Azerbaijan, Benin, Indonesia, Lebanon, Mozambique, Pakistan, Turkey, Senegal, Mali, and Iraq joined the Iranian representatives to hold the 38th meeting of the PUIC (Parliamentary Union of the OIC Members States) Executive Committee at meeting room at the PUIC headquarter building in the capital city of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Tehran.
The executive committee meeting was chaired by Issaka Sidibé, the President of the National Assembly of Mali.
In the meeting, the participant voted to form a delegation to be dispatched to Myanmar to figure out a report on the situation of Rohingya Muslims in that country and to initiate new efforts for ending the humanitarian crisis in Myanmar.
“We strongly support the territorial integrity and national solidarity of Iraq and offer congratulation over the recent victories of that country in the war against terrorism and liberating their occupied lands,” said Prof Mahmud Erol Kılıç, the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC), at the end of the meeting.
The Iranian members of the meeting also announced that the next session of PUIC General Assembly at the level of Parliament Speakers will be held in a ballpark period between January 10 and 15, 2018 in Tehran.
