With participation of 433 athletes from 19 countries, the event kicked off on Sunday September 17 at Park Chung Hee Gymnasium in Gumi City of South Korea and came to an end today.
Iran collected four gold and two silver medals in the Sanda division to finish vice-champion, China won the title with five golds and two silvers while India, having bagged two gold, two silver and three bronze trophies, stood on the third podium.
Meanwhile, in both Taolu and Sanda categories, China claimed the title with 19 golds and two silvers followed by Hong Kong who settled for eight gold and nine silver medals.
Overall, Persian wushu practitioners earned 22 medals, including seven golds, seven silvers and eight bronzes, to land third in the prestigious sportive event. Iranian athletes had stood in the fourth place in the previous edition of Asian Junior Wushu Championships.
The ninth edition of Asian Junior Wushu Championships kicked off on September 14, and will run through September 21, 2017.
