TEHRAN, Sep. 11 (MNA) – National Iranian wushu team is scheduled to leave for the Russian city of Kazan in order to participate at 2017 World Wushu Championships.

The 14th edition of World Wushu Championships (WWC) will take place from September 27th to October 3rd in Kazan City, Russia.

Men and Women wushu practitioners of Iran will depart for the Russian city in a bit to meet rivals at the prestigious sportive event.

Iran’s hopes in the Men’s Sanda division are pinned on Mohsen Mohammadseifi (-70kg), Yousef Sabri (-75kg), Moein Taghavi (-85g), Milad Arefi Magham (-90kg) as well as Hamidreza Gholipour (+90kg).

Taolu practitioners of Iran in Men’s events comprise Farshad Arabi, Amir Mohammadrezaei, Mahdi Mokhtarpour and Hossein Rahmani. The Iranian duelin Taolu team will be made up of Navid Makvendi, Farshad Arabi and Amir Mohammadrezaei.

Meanwhile, Elaheh Mansourian (-52kg), Shahrbanou Mansourian (-65kg) as well as Maryam Hashemi (-70kg) will represent Iran in Women’s Sanda category while Zahra Kiani, Hanieh Rajabi and Nahid Pourshabanan will be present in Taolu section.

Wushu is an ancient Chinese martial art that harmoniously combines the practice of combat techniques with the training of the person's personality: physical, intellectual, mental and moral qualities.
