“Heeding to Leader’s assertions and president’s emphases, enhancing air defense is at the top of the agenda of defense ministry in the 12th administration,” said Iranian newly appointed Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami on Tuesday. He made the remarks visiting Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base in Tehran
“What we witnessed today was all vitality, liveliness, science, and knowledge,” asserted the Iranian General, on the sidelines of the visit to a show of accomplishments at the base.
“What the air defense base is doing to monitor the country’s sky and protect security is an honor for our country,” said the defense minister when he was asked what he would do to resurrect the bill discussed in parliament three years ago about ensuring the revenues of the base for the air traffic of foreign planes using Iran’s air routes. “The base should certainly be supported and I will personally follow up the issue,” reassured the minister.
“If offensive anti-Iran statements like ‘the options on the table’ went nowhere is mainly because of our deterring power,” affirmed the General. “The main strength of our enemy is in the air and air defense is at prime importance in our deterrence.”
