TEHRAN, Aug. 29 (MNA) – South Korea’s envoy to Tehran asserted that his country will back Iran in industrializing technology.

“South Korea supports Iran in industrializing technology,” said the ambassador of South Korea to Tehran on Monday. The diplomat made the remark in the concluding session of the seminar on ‘KSP (Knowledge Sharing Program) and interaction with South Korea’ held by Iran’s National Fund of Elites in Tehran at the venue of the Center for Technological and Innovative Cooperation.

Highlighting the good relations between the two countries, the South Korean diplomat voiced hope that the seminar would broaden the technological cooperation between the two countries in the area of ICT.

Ali Morteza Birang, Deputy for International Affairs and Technology Exchange at Science Department of Iran’s Presidential Office was another figure to address the seminar. Mr. Birang said that Iran is currently at a transitory stage to move toward knowledge based economy and there are more than 3000 KB firms registered at the department receiving  variety of 100 services from the presidential body.

The vice-President of the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) of Korea and the ambassador of South Korea to Tehran were the special guest at the seminar.
