TEHRAN, Aug. 05 (MNA) – Speakers of Parliament of Cyprus met with FM Zarif to deliver the letter of his country’s president addressed to Iran’s Hassan Rouhani.

Speaker of House of Representatives of Cyprus Demetris Syllouris, who has travelled to Tehran, met and talked with Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Syllouris is staying in the Iranian capital in order to participate at inauguration ceremony of Dr. Hassan Rouhani.

FM Zarif, while stressing the need to bolster relations between Iran and Cyprus, said removal of international sanctions has paved the path for further development of economic cooperation.

The senior Iranian official also emphasized the need to resolve difficulties faced by Cyprus through diplomatic dialogues.

Later at the joint session, the two sides exchanged views on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and regional issues.

Demetris Syllouris later gave FM Zarif a letter from his country’s President Nicos Anastasiades on Cyprus talks addressed to Iran’s President Rouhani.
