TEHRAN, Jul. 07 (MNA) – Parliament's General Director for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said Saudi Arabia was no longer a solid and reliable political base for Arab countries.

Amir-Abdollahian, Palestine Intifada Conference Secretary General, wrote in a Twitter message that “the four countries, who are siding Saudi Arabia against Qatar, are no longer a solid and reliable political base for the Arabs.”

On June 5, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt broke off diplomatic relations and communication with Qatar, accusing it of supporting terrorism and interfering in their internal affairs. The Maldives, Mauritius, and Mauritania followed suit, while Jordan and Djibouti decided to reduce the level of their diplomatic contacts with Qatar.
