TEHRAN, Jun. 28 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif landed in the Italian capital city of Rome in order to meet and talk with high-ranking authorities of the European country.

Mohammad Javad Zarif is slated to meet with Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni, Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano, as well as President of the Chamber of Deputies Laura Boldrini.

The meetings are expected to revolve around bilateral issues and the latest regional developments especially as regards Syria.

On Wednesday evening, Iran’s Zarif and his Italian counterpart Alfano will participate in a joint press conference.

Italy remains as a major trade and economic partner for the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran’s foreign minister, who is on an official visit to two countries to exchange views and consult with European authorities, had made a visit to Germany prior to landing in Italy.
