TEHRAN, Jun. 27 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, underlining that Iran can be a good trade partner for Germany, said Tehran and Berlin can improve economic cooperation.

“Iran can be a trusted partner for Germany in co-production of goods and exporting them to the regional countries, especially Central Asia,” Zarif said in a meeting with German Minister for Economics and Energy Brigitte Zypries in Berlin on Tuesday.

The two countries enjoy long-standing relationships and the Iranian businessmen and Germany’s commercial society have mutual trust in each other, Zarif noted.

Referring to the existence of abundant capacities in Iran, Zarif said the time is now ripe for Iran and Germany to extend economic cooperation through naturally easing banking barriers which paves the way for increasing the economic and trade relations between the two countries.

Brigitte Zypries, for her part, pointed to the long-lived relations between the two countries, and said, “Iran-Germany ties are at a satisfactory level and a large number of Germans visit Iran every year.”

She said that Germany’s export insurance known as Hermes is interested in guaranteeing investment projects in Iran, especially in the sectors such as energy and electricity.
